New Zealand is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including the rare New Zealand national icon, the kiwi from which New Zealanders derive the name they call themselves.
Across rocky shores, sandy beaches, mountains, glaciers, volcanoes, rivers, rainforests and arid high country areas, you will find native birds in most parts of the country. Dolphin and whale watching, with little blue penguins, grey-faced petrels, albatrosses, stingray and tuis can be seen in many areas as well.
The spectacular beauty of New Zealand's landscapes, rich with life and diversity, is also a wealth of flora and fauna to look at and explore. Many tracks, walkways and cycle paths take you through native forest where you will find open spaces as well as observatories to stop and watch the Milky Way galaxy and constellations at night.
Our natural environment is precious to us and we would like to share it with you, so join one of our passionate kiwi guides for your own New Zealand eco tour.
